VANOVER WAS TAKEN TO THE RILEY COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER AND WAS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ROBBERY. BOND HAS BEEN SET AT $100,000.

TWO COUNTS OF FORCIBLE RAPE WERE REPORTED OVER THE WEEKEND. ACCORDING TO REPORTS FROM THE RILEY COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT A 23 YEAR OLD FROM COUNCIL GROVE WAS ALLEGEDLY ABDUCTED AND RAPED BY THREE WHITE MEN BETWEEN 1:30 AND 8:30 AM SUNDAY. THE OTHER INCIDENT WAS BY AN INDIVIDUAL THE ALLEGED VICTIM KNEW OCURING BETWEEN 8 AND 11 PM ON JUNE 19TH . BOTH COUNTS WERE REPORTED TO HAVE HAPPENED IN OR NEAR MANHATTAN.

GRANDMOTHER-SUICIDE

A western Missouri woman facing Kansas charges of killing her grandson has taken her own life. Seven-year-old Aaron Hutson died last week of blunt trauma while visiting relatives in Lansing, Kansas. Aaron was being raised by his grandmother, 44-year-old Carolyn Cattin, in Raytown, Missouri. Cattin was attending a counseling session in Kansas City yesterday when her lawyer called saying she was about to be charged. Police say Cattin excused herself, went to an office bathroom and shot herself to death. An arrest warrant filed in Leavenworth County, Kansas, yesterday accused Cattin of first-degree murder and child abuse. The suicide ends the case against Cattin, but her husband was in custody on charges of aiding a felon.
